Nokia has revealed details of its strategy for transforming the industry after the announcement of its plans to merge two key brands in one market.

Kallas also confirmed plans for Nokia to bring an all-electric version of its latest handsets to market. The decision is an attempt by the company to meet consumer demand for electric cars and hybrids, which are more efficient and environmentally-friendly than conventional batteries, but Kallas hinted that this might not mean a drastic shift from the firm's existing electric cars and hybrids.

"These are devices that work very well to carry the heavy loads that carry our users and are very easy to carry. They won't be too difficult for them to operate around people with disabilities. We are not looking to have a mass-market electric car in India," he said.

The company will focus its investment in new phones on a wider audience than previously, with a focus on the emerging markets - with a focus on Asian and European markets, said Suri.
